CLAREMORE, Okla. – WILLIAM HAIRSTON, CARSON COX, and TJ GISELBACH all hit home runs Monday against Rogers State, but St. Edward's baseball dropped the finale 6-5, and the series, 2-1.
 
Cox went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. BALLARD INFANTE carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, but did not factor in the decision.
 
St. Edward's (19-11, 6-3 Heartland) is tied for third place in the conference standings. Rogers State (19-10, 4-5 Heartland) has won two straight conference series.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hairston and Cox opened the game with back-to-back home runs, giving St. Edward's a 2-0 lead.
• Giselbach homered in the second and Cortina hit a RBI double in the fifth to make it 4-0.
• Rogers State scored four unanswered runs to tie the game, 4-4.
• Cox's RBI double in the seventh put SEU back in the lead.
• A pair of runs for RSU in the bottom of the seventh set up closer Rusty Huber for his second straight save.

 
HILLTOPPER NOTES

• St. Edward's is 9-3 in the all-time series against Rogers State.
• ROMEO CORTINA is on a 12-game hitting streak.
• The Hilltoppers have lost just four conference series in the last three seasons.
