THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas –
The No. 11-ranked St. Edward's University men's soccer team won its sixth-straight match Thursday with a 4-2 victory over Rogers State at Lewis-Chen Family Field.

The Hilltoppers (8-1, 5-0 HC) struck first in the 24' on a strike from junior JOHN-MATHEW BLAY-TOFEY. Junior DYLAN ARMSTRONG played a high pass from the top of the 18-yard box to senior OWAIN HOSKINS who headed it down to Blay-Tofey whose shot glanced in off of a nearby Hillcat defender and the hand of the goalkeeper.

Rogers State (5-3-1, 2-2-1 HC) evened the score in the 38' off of a free-kick opportunity. However, SEU retook the lead 63 seconds later as STEVE AOUDOU drew a handball in the 18-yard box, and PABLO COVARRUBIAS buried the penalty kick.

The Hilltcats drew even again in the 67' on a ball that was headed around the Hilltoppers' box and finally knocked into the net. Another 63 seconds later and St. Edward's took the lead again on a deflected cross from redshirt-freshman BRANDON RANGEL. RSU attempted to clear the cross but instead it deflected into the goal off of the goalkeeper's foot to give SEU a 3-2 lead.

GRANT MOBLEY gave the Hilltoppers insurance in the final seconds as he blasted a pass from Armstrong into the RSU net. Rogers State took a driving shot of its own with 49 seconds remaining, but SEU goalkeeper WILLIAM TUFFIN made the save.
