THE RUNDOWN
OKLAHOMA CITY – The St. Edward's baseball team (23-18, 11-9) rose to the challenge by defeating Oklahoma Christian (20-21, 9-11) in a four-game set, 3-1 at Dobson Baseball Field. The Hilltoppers won Friday's doubleheader by the score of 2-1 in game one, before dropping game two, 12-6.

BLAKE ALEXANDER was responsible for both of the Hilltoppers runs in the first inning as he drove in one on a double and scored himself by capitalizing on an infield error to put SEU ahead, 2-0. OCU put one run on the board in the fifth, but the defense closed the door in the seventh behind
TANNER LAWSON (8-2) who threw six strikeouts in his seventh complete game this season.

The Eagles had their biggest offensive output in the series in game two to avoid the sweep. Despite being down three runs on two different occasions, OCU hit two home runs in as many innings to account for five runs to help gain their first lead of the series by the seventh, 10-6. The visiting team would score two more runs to wrap up the series vs. the Hilltoppers.
CHRIS LOGAN (0-1) was charged with the loss after throwing just 1.2 innings. Starter
JUAN CORTINA threw four strikeouts but gave up five runs, hits, and walks in 4.1 innings before being knocked out the game.
