AUSTIN – St. Edward's Associate Vice President for Athletics Debbie Taylor announced Bryan Faulds as head coach for the baseball program Monday.
Bryan Faulds joined the St. Edward's staff in August 2017 as the pitching coach overseeing the day-to-day activities for the Hilltopper pitching staff in addition to assisting with recruiting. During his time, St. Edward's has won two conference titles and made one NCAA tournament appearance.
"Bryan has proven that he has the ability and wisdom to communicate and share that knowledge with the young men in our program in a way that is impactful and influential", said Taylor. "His energy, passion, and commitment to the student-athlete match perfectly with our expectations, goals, and vision for the program."

Two Hilltoppers have received All-America recognition since Faulds joined the coaching staff, with seven all-region selections and 12 all-conference honors.
Faulds brings nine years of coaching experience to the Hilltop. Previously, he served as the?pitching coach at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio from 2015-17.?During his time in Ohio, Faulds coached seven Mid-American Conference Pitchers of the Week. His staff also set the single-season school record for strikeouts with 483 in 2017 as the Bobcats won the 2017 Mid-American Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. That same team featured two first-team All-Mid-American Conference pitchers and three all-tournament team pitchers.
Prior to Ohio, Faulds spent six years at College of San Mateo in California. He worked his way up to the position of associate head coach and also served as interim head coach in fall of 2013. Faulds helped the Bulldogs to three conference championships, six regional appearances, and four super regional appearances.
A native of San Ramon, California, Faulds pitched at College of San Mateo from 2004-06 before transferring to Western Illinois University. As a Bulldog, Faulds helped the program to an overall record of 64-19 in two years, served as captain of the pitching staff, and won two consecutive Coast Conference Championships. As a Leatherneck, Faulds recorded the most saves (6) and second-most appearances (17) in 2007.
Faulds earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration from Western Illinois in 2009 and a Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology from Saint Mary's College (Calif.) in 2012.
