MORGAN ALLEN. Allen grounded out to the pitcher to end the threat and the game.
St. Mary's led the entire game, scoring two runs in the first inning before starting pitcher
WESLEY GAFFORD settled in. The Rattlers added one in the fourth and two in the sixth before St. Edward's got rolling with one run in the seventh, eighth, and ninth before suffering the loss.
Gafford took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs on eight hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Allen and
DAVIS DREWEK posted two hits each on the day while Hahn went 1-3 with one walk, a homerun, and two runs scored.
St. Edward's falls to 17-22 on the year and drop into the consolation bracket of the double elimination tournament. They will face the loser of the 6 pm game, Lubbock Christian and Angelo State, on Saturday at noon.
