Junior (2014): In his third year with St. Edwards he appeared in 54 games and started 53…registered 44 runs and 44 hits in 126 at-bats…earned 21 RBI…tallied one homerun on the year…finished the season with a .262 batting average.
 
Sophomore (2013): Made an appearance in 58 games while starting in 56 for the Hilltoppers…recorded 60 hits on 194 at bats for a batting average of .309…the efficient outfielder had a slugging percentage of .335 and a team best .428 on-base percentage…tallied four hits and scored a run against Incarnate Word (04/09/13)…had five hits and scored two runs during the final two games at the NCAA DII World Series.
 
Freshman (2012): Saw action in seven games during his first season on the Hilltop…his batting average and slugging percentage was .333 on the season…recorded two hits and scored one run.
 
Prep: Played four years of baseball at Clear Lake High School in Houston, Texas…in 2010 his efforts earned him a spot on the all-district first-team…he hit .370 with two home runs which led him to play in the Houston Area Coaches Association All-Star game…also lettered in football.
 
Personal: James Cutter Runte was born on Oct. 15, 1991…son of Jim and Diane Runte of Houston, Texas…has one sibling: Jake (24)…currently studying business management at St. Edward’s…enjoys to sleep and relax during his spare time…his biggest athletic thrill came as a Hilltopper when he recorded his first collegiate hit, and was apart of the 2012 St. Edward’s baseball team that made an NCAA Regional appearance
