How It Happened
-The Hilltoppers did all of their scoring in the 4th and 6th innings, with four runs coming in each. Down 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, St. Edward's responded with four runs in the inning. The first run was scored when a single by KP PERCH brought home ALLY VALDEZ. A single by BRIANNA BOZON brought home MARISSA THOME. Then, FAITH ROBERTS came in as a pinch hitter and hit a triple that brought home both Bozon and Perch.
-In the 6^th inning, Thome got on base with a single. Thome advanced to second after a sacrifice bunt by Perch. Then, a double by Roberts brought home Thome. A triple by CYDNEY ERVIN to left field brought in two runs to give St. Edward's a 7-6 lead. The final run occurred when KACI OLSON's single brought home Ervin.
 
Beyond the Box Score
-The Hilltoppers won despite being outhit 14 to 9. Part of the reason is Midwestern St. left eight runners on base compared to just two by St. Edward's.
 -FAITH ROBERTS and CYDNEY ERVIN combined for five of the Hilltoppers' eight RBIs.
-Pitcher SARAH DEBROW pitched a complete game and had three strikeouts. Debrow improved her record to 3-1 on the season.

How it Happened
-St. Edward's struck first in the third inning. Marissa Bogart doubled to left field. A sacrifice bunt by Ervin allowed Bogart to advance to third and Olson's single brought home Bogart.
-In the fourth inning is where St. Edward's took the game over with three runs. With two outs and Valdez on first, it didn't look like the Hilltoppers were in position to add runs. However, things changed quickly when Valdez advanced to second on a passed ball and Bozon walked. A single by KENDALL LUCAS brought Valdez home and sent Bozon to third. A single by Bogart ended bringing in Bozon and Lucas after a throwing error by Midwestern State's shortstop.
-In the seventh inning, the Hilltoppers added two more runs. SAMANTHA GILMORE singled and was brought home by a double from Roberts.
 
 
 
  Beyond the Box Score
-Three different Hilltoppers had two hits in the game: Roberts, Thome, and Bogart.
-Pitcher EMILY MAYFIELD improved to 3-0 on the year. Mayfield allowed just one earned run in four innings of work.
