How It Happened
-McMurry raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first two innings off of Hilltopper starting pitcher
CODY ELLERBEE.
-The Hilltoppers would get a run back in the fourth inning when
JOE PIROZZOLO singled home
RANSOM LALONDE to cut the lead to 3-1.
-Both teams would equalize each other as McMurry scored two runs in the sixth inning and St. Edward's responded with two runs in the seventh to make the score, 5-3.
-The War Hawks pushed across three runs in the bottom of the eighth to make the score 8-3.
-St. Edward's tried to rally in the ninth as
DYLAN WATTS and
MARSHALL BURFORD started the inning with solo home runs.
BEAU ROGERS would score on a groundout by LaLonde, but
CUTTER RUNTE struck out to end the game, as he was the tying run at the plate.
