How It Happened
-St. Edward's opened the scoring in the first inning when NATE BOBROWSKI tripled with one out. He would come in to score the first run of the game when RANSOM LALONDE singled him home.
-“Small Ball” worked to perfection for St. Edward's in the fourth inning. LaLonde singled to lead off the inning. He was sacrificed over to second base by JOE PIROZZOLO and would come in to score on a single by CJ MANNING.
-After the Falcons scored single runs in the fourth and fifth inning, the game was all knotted up at 2-2.
-That is the way it would stay until the 18th inning. DYLAN WATTS and KEVIN MAYO both were hit by pitches with one out. After a strikeout made it two outs, LaLonde came up with the huge single to score Watts.

Beyond the Box Score
-The Hilltoppers have yet to sweep a series so far this year. They have shown consistency in winning every series they have played.
-This was the longest game in St. Edward's Baseball History. The previous long was 16 innings and that feat was accomplished in the 2006 NCAA South Central Regional Tournament versus Angelo State.
-The game took four hours and five minutes to complete.

Between the Lines with Coach Penders
Head Coach Rob Penders on his team's play today:
“We got great pitching again today from our starter. With our offense sputtering like it is, they have done a great job giving us an opportunity to win. It took longer than it normally does but we did a good job of battling through a tough offensive day for both teams.”
