Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – In a back-and-forth game, St. Edward's lost a tough one to Lubbock Christian, 6-5, Saturday afternoon at Lucian-Hamilton Field.
St. Edward's (16-9, 4-5 HC) started the game hot at the plate.
WES KOENIG got things started with a one-out single.
RANSOM LALONDE followed with a hit by pitch. Koenig came in to score on a wild pitch, while LaLonde scored on a two-out single by
GABLE WHITACRE.
The Hilltoppers added a run in the fourth inning on an RBI-groundout by
MILES WRIGHT to make it, 3-0.

CAM HATCH was dealing early. The lefty only allowed two hits through the first five innings. In the sixth, Lubbock Christian (17-7, 11-1 HC) got hot. The Chaparrals rattled off six-consecutive hits to start the inning. Three of the hits were home runs by Brandon Wilson, Joel Lutz, Wigberto Nevarez. When it was all said and done, the visitors had taken the lead, 5-3.
Both pitching staffs were able to hold the opposition in check for the next two innings.
The Hilltoppers rallied in the eighth inning to tie the game with two runs. LaLonde started the inning by reaching on an error.
DYLAN WATTS followed with a walk. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Chris Killen would drive in LaLonde on a sacrifice fly to right. Watts scored on a squeeze bunt by Wright to tie the game.
Lubbock Christian would get a crucial run in the ninth inning. With one out, Wilson would score Tanner Rainey from third base on a sacrifice fly with the winning run.
St. Edward's would go in order in the ninth inning, as the Hilltoppers dropped their third-straight game.
