How it Happened
-The first two innings did not feature much offense from either team. In the first inning, Oklahoma Christian's Lauren Chatigny advanced to third base, but she was ultimately left stranded.
-St. Edward's put up the game's first run in the third inning.
LAUREN BRODE's single through the left side brought home
KACI OLSON.
-The Hilltoppers extended the lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning.
CYDNEY ERVIN singled down the right field line. Then, Ervin proceeded to steal second base when Oklahoma Christian catcher Kala Ratliff throw hit Ervin in the helmet and bounced all of the way to the centerfield wall. Ervin rounded third and made it all the way home.

SARAH DEBROW and her teammates ensured the victory with solid play during the stretch. Debrow held Oklahoma Christian without a hit in the fifth and sixth innings. In the seventh inning, Oklahoma Christian's Kendra Pierce doubled to right center. Pierce advanced to third off a lineout by teammate Courtney Starr. Needing one final out, Debrow struck out Ratliff.

-The drizzly weather seemed to have an effect on both offenses. There were a total of just seven hits in the game with five by St. Edward's.

How It Happened
-Oklahoma Christian put up two runs in the second inning. A Ratliff single and a Martha Thomas double put two runners on. A fielding error by third baseman
ALLY VALDEZ led to both runners crossing home.
-St. Edward's had the bases loaded with no outs in the third inning.
BRIANNA BOZON, Ervin, and Olson were all on base. Lauren Alvarado came in as a pinch runner for Bozon, but was tagged out at home off a bunt by
KENDALL LUCAS. The Hilltoppers would leave three runners on after
LAUREN BRODE fouled out and Valdez grounded out.
-Oklahoma Christian did most of its damage in the fourth inning. They were helped by four errors committed by the Hiltoppers. Ratliff was brought home by Michelle Miller's single to shortstop. Miller advanced to third on a double by Pittman. A fielding error by Klug allowed Miller to cross home. Then, Pittman scored on a throwing error by catcher
FAITH ROBERTS.
-The Hilltoppers loaded the bases again in the sixth inning. Valdez singled down the left field line. Roberts singled to shortstop.
MARISSA THOME walked to get on base.
MARISA BOGART popped out to first base for the first out. Then, Bozon lined into a double play. The line was caught by pitcher Taylor Mosher, who immediately threw to third where Valdez was doubled off.
-St. Edward's could not manage a hit in the seventh inning.

-The Hilltoppers committed five errors and left eight runners on base in the loss. All five of the Eagle runs were unearned.

KACI OLSON had two hits in the game and is now second on the team with 25 for the year. Olson is one behind Valdez' 26.

St. Edward's will be back in action beginning Tuesday when they travel to take part in the Best Western Spring Fling. The two-day tournament will take place in Denton, Texas and will be hosted by Texas Woman's. St. Edward's will take on #12 Texas Woman's on Tuesday at 3 p.m., and follow that up against #21 Abilene Christian at 5 p.m. Wednesday's final game will also be against Abilene Christian at 10 a.m..
