·      Heartland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll (Fall 2011)
 
Junior (2011-12): Saw action in 17 games for the Hilltoppers during his first season…averaged 2.2 points during the season…connected on eight of his 14 three-point attempts for 57 percent.
 
Prep: Played four years of basketball at San Marcos High School…a defensive specialist in high school by earning the defensive MVP for four-straight years…was the most outstanding player and offensive MVP in 2007-08…was a member of AVID and appeared on the A-B Honor Roll every year during his high school career.
 
Personal: Joseph Rey Saldana was born on July 25, 1989…his guardians are his grandparents Jesse and Blanca Rodriguez…has four siblings: Moses, Emanuel, Abraham, and Jeremiah…currently studying kinesiology with career hopes of becoming a coach and working in sports medicine…enjoys the outdoors by camping, fishing, and swimming…enjoys eating Sloppy Joe’s until he is full…playing basketball is his biggest athletic thrill.
