St. Edward's University Athletics

Sophomore (2011-12): Started in 25 games as a sophomore for the Hilltopper basketball squad…averaged 12.1 points per game which was third overall for the team…was second on the team in three-point field goals made connecting on 42…during the first game of the season against Southwestern (11/11/11) he recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds…arguably his best game came against Incarnate Word (11/26/11) when he recorded 29 points and seven rebounds.
 
Redshirt Freshman (2010-11): Played in all 25 games, while starting in 12…averaged 23.6 minutes per game…led the team with assists, recording 67 on the year for an average of 2.7 per game…his best game of the year came against Huston-Tillotson (11/13/10) when he recorded 15 points and seven assists…that game he went 3-of-4 from the behind the arc and 6-of-8 overall.
 
Freshman (2009-10): Redshirted the season.
 
Prep: Played four years at North Lawndale High School in Chicago, Ill.…during his freshman season he led his team to an elite eight playoff appearance…in his sophomore season they made it back to the playoffs losing in the state title game…in his junior season he helped his team win its first state championship, and he made the all-tournament first-team and was the team captain…he scored 16 points during the title game…in is final season he helped his team to a third place finish in the state playoffs…once again was the team captain…his hard work and dedication led him to have his number retired at North Lawndale.
 
Personal: Zilijan Stephon Jones was born on March 20, 1991…son of Elbert and Tanya Jones of Chicago, Ill…has four siblings: Kawana (24), Shaytia (20), Zachary (18), Jacquetta (15)…currently studying kinesiology with hopes to become a chiropractor…enjoys playing basketball, listening to music, dancing, and singing…his biggest athletic thrill is making a three-point play to send the game into overtime against Dallas Baptist.
