Junior (2011-12): Recorded big minutes in his second year on the Hilltop…played in 26 games while starting 25…led the team with 18.0 points per game…averaged 7.7 rebounds per game which is also a team high for the season…recorded eight double-double games throughout the season…recorded a career high 39-points against St. Thomas (11/14/11).


Sophomore (2010-11): In his first season at St. Edward’s Johnson played in 24 games while starting in 23…he was second on the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game…in his first career game against Huston-Tillotson (11/13/10) he recorded a double-double with 13 rebounds and 11 points…closed out his freshman year with a 30-point game against Texas-Permian Basin (02/26/11).
 
Freshman (Fairfield (Conn.)) (2009-10): Appeared in 29 games, starting 14 of them…shot 37.5 percent from the field scoring a total of 71 points during the course of the season…had his best game against Fordham (11/15/09) when he scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his only double-double of the season.
 
Prep: Played two seasons of basketball at Bishop Maginn…during his junior season he averaged 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds…in his senior season he led his team to the New York state championship, scoring 20 points and recording 12 rebounds in the title game.
 
Personal: Shimeek Isiah Johnson was born on March 20, 1990…son of Mark Johnson and Monique Fluker of Albany, New York…has five siblings: Anthony (31), Marquise (27), Marquise (24), Trayvon (15), and Tyran (15)Mahogany Wesley (6)…currently studying sociology at St. Edward’s with career hopes of playing professional basketball in the NBA or oversees…his hobbies include working, playing black jack, and bowling…his biggest athletic thrill was winning the state championship for his high school.
