Junior (2016): Appeared in five games…produced a .400 batting average to go along with two RBI.
Sophomore (2015) (Wharton County JC): Made 50 appearances for WCJC…totaled a batting average of .252 with 16 runs on 36 hits, and 10 RBI…hit seven doubles, a triple, and one home run…collected 18 walks, was hit by seven pitches, and stole six bases…went 2-for-4 at Laredo (2/27) with two runs and a triple…lone home run of the season came against San Jacinto-North (3/26) in a 2-for-3 effort.
Redshirt Freshman (2014) (Wharton County JC): Appeared in 32 games for the Pioneers…finished the season batting .250 with five runs on 21 hits, and six RBI…collected two doubles and a pair of stolen bases…went 3-for-5 at Laredo (3/22) with a double and an RBI.
Freshman (2013) (Wharton County JC): Redshirted the season.
Prep: Played baseball and football at Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas…named all-district and all-county as an outfielder and catcher…helped football team to a playoff appearance…graduated Cum Laude as one of the top-20 in his class, and a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Luke Anthony Meza was born on September 7, 1993…son of Missy and Joe Meza…has one sibling: Joey… majoring in psychology at St. Edward’s with hopes of going into sports psychology…hobbies include fishing, golf, and wakeboarding…going to the football playoffs in high school is his biggest athletic thrill.
