2017 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR):
• Appeared in 24 games with five starts, mostly at designated hitter for the Hilltoppers.
• Batted .314 with two runs and 10 RBI on three doubles and a home run.
• Went 2-for-3 with three RBI against UH-Victoria.
• Hit first-career home run against Harding.
 
2016 (JUNIOR):
• Redshirted the season.
 
2015 EL PASO CC (SOPHOMORE): Made 57 plate appearances in 20 games for his team…finished the season batting .341 with 16 runs on 15 hits, and 12 RBI…registered three doubles, a triple, and a home run.
 
2014 EL PAS CC (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 27 games for the Tejanos…batted .239 with eight runs on 17 hits, and 15 RBI…collected two doubles, a triple, and a pair of home runs.
 
PREP: Played baseball and football at Bishop Kelly High School in Boise, Idaho…hit .420 with 28 runs on 34 hits, and 37 RBI his senior season…part of three district championships (2010-12), three conference titles (2010, 2012-13), and an Idaho 4A State Championship (2010)…listed in the school’s top-20 for single-season at-bats, hits, doubles, hit-by-pitch, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, stolen bases, and walks…helped team to second and third-most wins in school history his junior and senior seasons.

PERSONAL: Derek Charles Thompson graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in Boise, Idaho in 2013…son of his parents… majoring in accounting at St. Edward’s…enjoys playing baseball, and having fun.
