One of the most decorated Hilltoppers in program history, Brannon Easterling earned the Josh Willingham National Most Valuable Player Award in 2013, presented by College Baseball Lineup. An All-Star Team selection and Second Team All-America pick that same season, Easterling tied for first in the nation in wins with 14 on the year. He led the Hilltoppers to their first NCAA World Series appearance, finishing third in the nation.

Easterling followed up his impressive 2013 season with a First Team All-America selection in 2014 and was named Pitcher of the Year by three separate organizations. The 2014 team earned regular season and tournament titles from the Heartland Conference, making their third consecutive postseason appearance.

A First Team All-Region pick both seasons to go along with numerous conference honors, Easterling is first in starts in a season (18), complete games in a season (15), shutouts in a season (5), wins in a season (14), innings pitched in a season (132.2) and strikeouts in a season (108).

Despite playing just two years on the Hilltop, Easterling ranks first in career complete games (29), career shutouts (9) and career ERA (1.82). He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 20th round in the 2014 draft.
