St. Edward's Athletics Hall of Fame
Daniel Dwyer attended St. Edward’s University from 1959 to1963, and lettered all four years playing tennis. He was the varsity captain for four years. He was the winner of the Big State Conference singles and doubles in 1962, and doubles in 1963. Dwyer was proud to be part of the team that brought the first Big State Conference tennis title to St. Edward’s University. Dwyer was also awarded SEU Man of the Year in 1963; sophomore and junior class president in 1961 and 1962; and student body president in 1963. He was a pioneer of Wheelchair Tennis and was selected as 1997 USTA Man of the Year, and was inducted to the USTA Hall of Fame in 1998.
