St. Edward's Athletics Hall of Fame
James Ellison is a 1979 graduate of St. Edward’s University, and lettered four years in baseball. He earned NAIA Academic All-American in 1979, first-team Big State All-Conference in 1978 and 1979, NAIA Area Honorable Mention in 1978, NAIA District First-Team in 1979, Academic All-Conference in 1979, and was named Most Valuable Player in 1979. The Austin American-Statesman called Ellison “the winningest pitcher in St. Edward’s history” in 1979 after he completed 24 career victories.
