St. Edward's Athletics Hall of Fame
Clare McFadden-Neyland graduated from St. Edward’s in 1981. She lettered four years in tennis and was the number one player all four seasons. In her junior year, she was ranked 13th in the South and represented the South in the National Championship. She also won three Arkansas State Championships. While at St. Edward’s, Clare coordinated a St. Edward’s invitational conference tournament and took first place in singles. Today she lives in Houston with her husband, Robert, and their two children, Sarah and Ryan. Currently a full-time mother and housewife, Clare previously worked at the Union Bank of Houston where she was personal banking officer and manager of the personal banking department. She also served as the bank’s United Way coordinator. Clare coordinated the Red Barrel program of the End Hunger Network in Houston and was a committee member for S.E.A.R.C.H., a project for Houston’s homeless. She has been a member of the American Institute of Banking and the Houston Women’s Professional Association. She is also a former loan officer. For relaxation, Clare enjoys gardening and reading.
